How to find a company’s directors and their contact details
Where they appear, which contact details you can use and how to find all of a person’s companies
The director’s name is public. Their personal phone number is not.
You find out who runs a company from the Trade Register. For contact, however, you use the company’s channels: its phone, email and website, through which you also reach the director.
In short: directors’ names are public: they appear in ONRC information extracts and certificates, and appointments are published in the Official Gazette, Part IV. On Firmeo you get them in the selection export by ticking the “Management” field, next to the company’s contact details (phone, email, website), where available. For a specific person, use “Search by director or shareholder”. Firmeo provides the company’s contact details, not directors’ personal data.
Where directors appear
Four places, from the official source to what you use every day.
The difference between company data and personal data.
The company’s phone, email and website. They are the natural channel for the first contact: you call the company and ask for the decision maker.
Named addresses ([email protected]). They are personal data: if you use them, you inform the person at the first contact (Art. 14 GDPR) and stop if they object (Art. 21 GDPR).
The director’s personal phone number. It is not public business data. Do not look for it in sources of unknown origin.
Marketing email and SMS. They require the recipient’s prior consent, including when the recipient is a company (Romanian Law 506/2004, Art. 12).
How to find all of a person’s companies
On the selection page, “Search by director or shareholder” shows the companies in which a person appears as director or shareholder. This is useful when you check a partner: you see which other companies the same person runs, then check each company for free by CUI (active, debts to ANAF, insolvency). For contacting the people on the list legally, see the GDPR guide for databases.

Frequently asked questions
Short answers about directors and their contact details.
How do I find out who the director of a company is?
From the ONRC information extract or certificate (for a fee per document), from the acts published in the Official Gazette, Part IV, or on Firmeo, where directors’ names appear in the selection export under the “Management” field.
Can I find the director by CUI?
Yes. The CUI identifies the company: with it you request the extract from ONRC or find the company on Firmeo. You can see the same company’s tax status for free, by CUI.
Do I get the director’s personal phone number?
No. Firmeo provides the company’s contact details (phone, email, website), where available, next to the names of the management, not directors’ personal data.
How do I find all of a director’s companies?
With “Search by director or shareholder” on the Firmeo selection page: you type the person’s name and see the companies in which they appear as director or shareholder.
Is it legal to contact a company’s director?
Yes, through the company’s channels and by informing them at the first contact: who you are, where you got the data, why you are contacting them and that they can object (Art. 14 and 21 GDPR). For marketing email and SMS you need their prior consent (Romanian Law 506/2004, Art. 12).
What if the director has changed?
The change is registered with ONRC and published in the Official Gazette. The Firmeo database is updated daily; for the official situation on a given date, request the ONRC extract.
