From the 2025 financial statements filed within the legal deadline with the Ministry of Finance by 01.08.2026, from the data of the National Trade Register Office and from information from the county chambers of commerce.

Which companies are not included in the ranking?

Companies that, at the date of the ranking, are being deregistered, are bankrupt, in liquidation, dissolution or insolvency, or have temporarily suspended their activity; companies with at least one negative calculated indicator; economic interest groups (GIE). Companies without employees are not included in the size-category rankings.

How is a company’s size category determined?

By number of employees, turnover and total assets: micro-enterprises (0–9 employees, up to €2 million), small enterprises (10–49 employees, up to €10 million), medium-sized (50–249 employees, turnover up to €50 million or assets up to €43 million), large (250–999 employees) and very large (from 1,000 employees).

Where can I see the turnover of a specific company?

microenterprises – from 0 to 9 employees and with an annual net turnover or total assets of up to EUR 2 million, equivalent in lei;
small enterprises – from 10 to 49 employees and with an annual net turnover or total assets of up to EUR 10 million, equivalent in lei;

medium-sized enterprises – from 50 to 249 employees and with an annual net turnover of up to EUR 50 million, equivalent in lei, or total assets not exceeding the lei equivalent of EUR 43 million;
large enterprises – from 250 to 999 employees;
very large enterprises – 1,000 employees and above.
